Dive into the vibrant world of traditional music at Edinburgh Tradfest this May. This unmissable 11-day festival showcases the very best in traditional arts from Scotland and beyond, bringing together an exciting program of live music, workshops, films, and captivating storytelling sessions just moments from our doors.
Since the festival’s inception in 2013, Tradfest has become a key highlight in Edinburgh’s cultural calendar, attracting music lovers from across Scotland. Instead of being confined to one venue, Tradfest offers performances at iconic venues including the Queen’s Hall and the Traverse Theatre. This year, the festival will feature a remarkable lineup of talented artists and performers from around the world, from classic Scottish pipers to lively folk and ceilidh bands.
While the full program has yet to be revealed, Tardiest recently announced that the festival will kick off with Scotland’s celebrated piper and composer, Ross Ainslie, performing alongside the Sanctuary Band at Edinburgh’s Queen’s Hall. Special guests are also set to include Terra Kin, on the fingerstyle guitar, folk trio Leveret, Lauren MacColl, and Finnish power duo Teho. With much more to be announced, Tradfest 2025 promises to be a captivating celebration of traditional music that’s too good to miss.
