Be inspired and empowered by Edinburgh Modern’s bold new exhibition, Women in Revolt!, following its triumphant run at London’s Tate Modern. This exhibit showcases the political impact of art and culture during the Women’s Liberation Movement, presenting an array of works from the second and third waves of feminism, spanning the 1970s to the 1990s, as women fought for the crucial reproductive and professional rights we recognise today.

Featuring over 100 artists across three decades, explore a diverse selection of paintings, sculptures, performances, and photography that encapsulate the feminist movement’s struggles. From the tragedy of the AIDS crisis to the empowerment of marginalised communities and the growing visibility of Black and South Asian feminist voices, this poignant exhibition highlights how the artistic rebellion of a few can resonate with us all.
