Who we are

The Resident is a collection of city centre hotels with four in London (Covent Garden, Kensington, Soho, Victoria), one in Liverpool and a new hotel in the Edinburgh New town opening later this summer. With our hotels being carefully chosen urban neighbourhoods, our guests can enjoy an immersive city experience in a relaxed enclave.

Having opened our first hotel in London’s Kensington in 2006, our brand has grown and evolved significantly, whilst maintaining the same core principles and values which have helped establish it as one of the highest travellers ranked collection of hotels in the UK.

The Resident is substantially owned by Mactaggart Family & Partners, the co-investment management platform of Western Heritable. A long-established Family Office backed real estate private equity firm, Western Heritable was founded in 1896 by Sir John Mactaggart, Baronet of King’s Park Glasgow and great grandfather of the present Chairman.

    Home Away from Home

     

    This was probably our 5th or more stay. We stayed before it became a the Resident when it was the Nadler. We loved the location. While the rooms aren’t over size the amenities within each room is more than adequate. I’m writing today because there are not enough superlatives to describe the entire staff at the Resident. Recently we stayed three nights and when leaving checked in three suitcases and backpacks as we went on a short trip to Bath. Upon our return our luggage was waiting for us in our new room. This for us was beyond our expectation and was the nicest way to arrive back for an addt’l four nights. The staff is ALWAYS welcoming,‘helpful and simply the nicest people. I highly recommend you give them a visit.

    Glad we chose this hotel in London!

     

    First class experience all the way. The hotel is exactly as advertised. It is modern, very clean, and the staff is top notch. They gave us great recommendations for restaurants in several areas of the city. They also helped us with train information within London and to Windsor Castle. No breakfast in the hotel, but Tesco is almost right across the street, and Gail’s Bakery in the neighborhood is terrific. We ate at Golden Dragon in Chinatown and Rudy’s Pizza in Soho – both serving fantastic meals. We would definitely stay here again given the opportunity.

    Hidden Gem

     

    Booked after some research reading reviews and I wasn’t disappointed! Old converted building with exposed brick added character and charm. Reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. A lovely touch was the card inviting us for welcome drinks on our first evening! Rooms small but perfectly adequate with a great mini kitchen behind the wardrobe and very comfy beds! Great location, close to shops, bars and restaurants.

    Great hotel with perfect location.

     

    We loved staying at the Resident Kensington. We had never been to London and didn’t know much about the hotels/locations/etc., but we don’t regret staying here and would definitely come back to this hotel. The location is perfect near the Earl’s Court Station. We used the tube for everything The price was reasonable too. The staff was friendly and answered all our questions. Our room was clean and quiet. Highly recommend!
