The Resident is a collection of city centre hotels with four in London (Covent Garden, Kensington, Soho, Victoria), one in Liverpool and a new hotel in the Edinburgh New town opening later this summer. With our hotels being carefully chosen urban neighbourhoods, our guests can enjoy an immersive city experience in a relaxed enclave.
Having opened our first hotel in London’s Kensington in 2006, our brand has grown and evolved significantly, whilst maintaining the same core principles and values which have helped establish it as one of the highest travellers ranked collection of hotels in the UK.
The focus at The Resident is to provide excellent rooms in exceptional locations with heartfelt advice in the heart of the neighbourhood. Guests can expect a relaxed, warm and welcoming atmosphere from The Resident with a variety of room types, featuring thoughtful amenities including concealed mini-kitchens, Nespresso machines and complimentary WiFi.

The Resident is substantially owned by Mactaggart Family & Partners, the co-investment management platform of Western Heritable. A long-established Family Office backed real estate private equity firm, Western Heritable was founded in 1896 by Sir John Mactaggart, Baronet of King’s Park Glasgow and great grandfather of the present Chairman.
The Resident Liverpool
The Resident’s location is perfect for anyone wishing to visit the great city of Liverpool as it is within walking distance of loads of the attractions. It is right in the middle of the buzzing night life in of the city but you would never know it as we did not hear any outside noise from our room.
The staff are really friendly and helpful and our room was lovely, comfortable and clean.

The hotel is ideally located in Soho, It is quiet inside and rooms are well appointed I stay there every time I am in London.

The Resident Victoria
We had a lovely stay with our children at the Resident. It is really central and very convenient to visit all the main monuments of London. The rooms are equiped with a mini kitchen, which is a real asset. We strongly recommend this hotel for a short family or couple stay.

The Resident Kensington
A rare find. I had the most pleasant 2-night stay at The Resident Kensington. The location was perfect coming from Heathrow, and I was warmly welcomed by the reception staff on arrival. My room was impeccable and had everything I needed, including a handy kitchenette. It is located in a lovely neighborhood and was enjoyable to walk around and explore. I wish I could have stayed longer there and would highly recommend.

Amazing Amazing Amazing. What a great experience so much fun the staff were unbelievable seriously missing being here.
