A historic championship where the world’s best golfers compete for the Claret Jug on one of England’s iconic links courses.

Royal Birkdale Golf Club will soon host The 154th Open, the oldest major in professional golf and one of sport’s most revered championships. Known for its demanding links terrain, towering dunes and unpredictable winds, Royal Birkdale will welcome thousands of fans from across the globe for a week of elite competition, fan zones and unforgettable sporting moments.

The championship begins with four Practice Days from 12–15 July, offering a chance to see players prepare and enjoy fan activities, qualifiers and short-format challenges that set the tone for the tournament. The main Championship rounds run from 16–19 July, culminating in the crowning of the Champion Golfer of the Year.

Whether it’s dramatic final-round putts, classic links strategy or the buzz of the spectator village with food, drink and merchandise, The Open is as much a celebration of golf culture as it is a pinnacle of competitive sport.
