In a stunning collaboration with Gucci and Sir Elton John, the V&A is proud to present ‘Fragile Beauty’, a follow-up to the Tate Modern’s acclaimed 2016 exhibition, ‘The Radical Eye’. This new iteration delves into the world of photography from the 1950s to the present day, showcasing an unparalleled collection of over 300 rare prints by more than 140 iconic photographers. Visitors will encounter captivating self-portraits by Cindy Sherman and the masterful black and white still-life and nude studies of Robert Mapplethorpe, in this stunning collection centred around love, masculinity and gender.

Notably, every piece in the exhibition is on loan from the esteemed private collection of Sir Elton John and David Furnish, marking a remarkable 30 years of their dedicated to art collection

Prepare to be mesmerized by iconic works including ‘Self-Portrait’ by Robert Mapplethorpe, an enchanting image exploring male beauty and gender norms,  ‘Simply Fragile’ by Tyler Mitchell, and nostalgic snaps from the nostalgic moments from the last 50 years, including “Untitled, 368, Fire Island Pines’ by Tom Bianchi.
