Step into a timeless Christmas tradition with The Nutcracker, choreographed by Sir Peter Wright for The Royal Ballet. First performed in 1984, this enchanting production has become a seasonal favourite, combining Tchaikovsky’s magical score with Julia Trevelyan Oman’s elegant designs.

The story follows young Clara on a Christmas Eve adventure that begins with a mysterious gift and transforms into a fantastical journey. As the clock strikes midnight, toys come to life, a Christmas tree grows before your eyes, and Clara is swept into a world of battles, snowflakes and sweets. Alongside the Nutcracker Prince, she encounters the Sugar Plum Fairy, the glittering Kingdom of Sweets and some of the most famous dances in the ballet repertoire.

This production captures both the innocence of childhood and the romance of growing up, told through exquisite choreography and dazzling stagecraft. With its festive magic, unforgettable music and moments of sheer wonder, The Nutcracker is a highlight of the winter season.
