The health and wellbeing of our guests and teams is of utmost importance to us at Resident Hotels.
On the evening of the 20th March 2020 the UK Government instructed the vast majority of the hospitality sector to close as soon as practicable. The UK Government now recognises the Covid-19 threat as the greatest peacetime challenge to our society and it is a global problem, effectively as of 21st March our cities are shut down.
We have to act in the best interests of our guests and our teams at this time and in this context it is right to close all five of our hotels temporarily, from Monday 23rd March until Thursday 30th April 2020 in the first instance, with the expectation that the temporary closure could last until the 21st June 2020. In line with the UK Government approach we will review the situation formally each month with our first review on the 25th April 2020.
Your Travel Flexibility
We sincerely apologise for the disruption that this measure will cause to your travel plans, and remain available to help you resolve all queries. For all guests with non-refundable (“Advanced Purchase”) bookings, with a stay date between Monday 23rd March – Thursday 30th April 2020, please contact the hotel to arrange an alternative stay for a future date within the next 12 months from 21st June if that can work for you and if not, please contact the hotel for other options. For guests with a “Best Flexible Rate”, cancellations will be as usual. If you need to adjust reservations made directly at our hotels, please contact our hotels directly.
For all our customers who made their booking through another travel site, we will also assist in arranging an alternative stay for a future stay if that is possible. However, you will need to make those changes directly with the third party concerned.
For new future bookings, we recommend that guests book directly with us and choose flexible rates which can be cancelled at any time up to 11am, on the day prior to arrival. We do not suggest re-booking before the date of 21st June 2020 at this stage.
The Resident is a brand that epitomises personal hospitality, we are hosts and whilst we are closed to guests we are not closed to communicating to our guests and members. We will politely engage through this very difficult time and hope to keep spirits up as we look forward to the days when this is all behind us and we reopen and welcome everyone back.
Our objective through this difficult time is to retain our teams intact and plan for the re-openings of our five wonderful hotels when it is safe to do so.
